Marianske Lazne

The town of Mariánské Lázně is located in West Bohemia in a large vale at the altitude of 576 to 626 metres above sea level. A 20 km wide zone of woods, studded with a number of tourist trails, is in the immediate vicinity of the spa. In the territory of the spa area, around 100 cold springs of mineral water with a high content of carbon dioxide have been discovered. People began using some of these as early as the beginning of the 16th century. The colonnade from 1889 is a real pearl among the town’s structures. It was built in the Neo-classicist style and thus it has been put on the list of national cultural sites.

Spa guests who seek out Mariánské Lázně are those who especially suffer from locomotive system illnesses and kidney and urinary disorders, but Mariánské Lázně is also suitable for curing respiratory and gynaecologic illnesses as well as metabolic disorders. Mariánské Lázně additionally offer spa stays for children.

For the maximal success of the spa visit, we recommend classical spa stays for a length of 3 – 4 weeks. But we also offer short-term curative programs and easily purchasable packages, which can regenerate the whole body even during a short stay.

DRINKING CURE

The mineral springs contain a large amount of carbon dioxide and ferrous ions (10 – 40 mg/l), and are called natural acidulous waters.
All of the local mineral waters are cold, with a temperature varying between 7 - 10° C. A balneological rarity is the fact that despite being located in such a small area, the water from these springs has an overall chemical composition that enables many types of illnesses to be cured.

The amount of water prescribed for a drinking cure is usually 1.5 - 2 litres per day. The mineral springs are also used for inhalations and mineral baths.
